When clients push past the holding pattern signals, and how the red wavelength light helps your client’s system to soften before the holding tension becomes hurting tension, and the discomfort becomes a pattern.
Q. Do you notice how clients will override physical or holding tension until their system is overloaded with discomfort or hurting tension?
Q. How would your client respond when they could recognize their physical or holding signals before reaching their overloaded threshold or hurting pattern?
Q. How might your sessions change if clients could understand the signals and respond earlier rather than pushing through and enduring the physical tension longer than necessary?
Many clients have been conditioned to push through physical discomfort as a survival strategy. They override the early holding signals because they’ve have been taught to keep going, stay productive, or not make a big deal out of it. Over time, this creates a disconnect between what their body is communicating and how your clients respond. This is where the practitioner with the red wavelength light can help bridge the gap.
When clients push through holding tension, their system compensates by tightening, bracing, or compressing, and these patterns or signals accumulate quietly. The red wavelength light helps soften the physical layer system by signaling warmth, safety, and allowing the physical system to release what tensions it has been holding.
Practitioners will see small changes in their client, like from shallow breathing to a deeper breath or their body shifting from rigidity to more relaxed ease within minutes. The client may not feel the difference, but you will start to notice these small releases. As they relax, they may start yawning, they may get sleepy, or their body will involuntarily start to move. These are good signs, because the client system is starting to release the tensions it has been holding.
You, as the practitioner, will realize how effective the red wavelength light is when the clients describe sensations like “I didn’t realize how tight I was. I just kept going” or “I didn’t notice the tension I was holding until it got bad.” These statements reveal a delayed awareness of the physical overload your clients had been holding. By you applying the red wavelength light to the areas where the system is holding, often the neck, shoulders, lower back, or diaphragm, you are helping your client to reconnect with their physical system baseline.
As clients start to recognize early signals, they will begin to respond sooner with more confidence and clarity. This is building trust and partnership between you, the practitioner, your client, and the client’s own system. Over time the client will develops a healthier partnership with their system's physical cues, and start to shift from endurance to partnership. This is the workings of the Physical Tension Pathway.
